The SSSCP membership is designed to cater to a wide range of trades and professions that need to demonstrate their competency. It is open to individuals at any level within their respective industries, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to provide verifiable evidence of their skills, knowledge, experience, and behaviours. Regardless of your field or expertise, if you require competency, verification, the SSSCP will provide the necessary documentation to support this.

No,  the SSSCP membership is a global scheme open to any company to join, regardless of location or industry.

All SSSCP individual members must complete a training competency assessment before their passport goes live to raise and maintain standards within the built environment. This assessment is crucial for the responsible person to make an informed judgment on your skills, knowledge, experience, and behaviours to ensure you can competently perform your tasks. Upon completion, your assessment results will be uploaded to your SSSCP passport, enabling profile checks to verify your competency. This process will be conducted annually to ensure we continue to raise standards, drive culture change, and improve behaviours.

The individual or the company accepts a disclaimer that confirms the validity and accuracy of all submitted documents. By accepting this disclaimer, you acknowledge that should any issues arise regarding the authenticity of these documents, the responsibility will rest with you. This approach not only protects all parties involved but also emphasises the importance of accountability and integrity. It encourages individuals to take ownership of their actions and fosters a culture of honesty in the assessment process. By reinforcing these values, we aim to ensure a trustworthy and compliant environment within the SSS Compliance Passport framework.

You will receive renewal reminders through the SSSCP app message centre, notifying you of upcoming document renewals. These reminders will help you stay on track by providing notifications at 3 months, 2 months, and 1 month prior to expiration dates. This proactive approach ensures that you have ample time to rebook or renew your qualifications, preventing any lapse in compliance.

Additionally, companies will have access to this information on their dashboard, allowing them to monitor the compliance status of their workforce easily. This collective effort promotes accountability and encourages a culture of responsibility within your organisation.

By taking these steps, you are not only ensuring your own compliance but also contributing to a safer and more responsible working environment.

The SSSCP membership belongs to the individual, not the company.

You can be assigned to a company if you take on a permanent role.

You can be removed from a company when you leave.

We’ve dedicated time to clearly explain all the benefits available to you and provide insights on how to make the most of them. This ensures that you can fully leverage the resources at your disposal to enhance your experience and drive your professional development.

As a member, you will benefit from a dynamic, real-time membership document that allows you to upload and update your qualifications and work experience continuously. This live document ensures that your skills and experiences are always current, providing potential employers with an accurate representation of your capabilities.

It’s essential to take responsibility for keeping this document updated, as it reflects your commitment to professional development and accountability. By maintaining accurate and timely information, you present yourself in the best light possible, demonstrating your readiness for new opportunities.

Legislative changes do not impact your SSS Compliance Passport, as it serves to evidence your skills, knowledge, experience, and behaviours in real-time, ensuring you are always ready for a profile check. The SSSCP focuses on demonstrating your training and competency levels, providing a comprehensive overview of your qualifications. It is ultimately up to clients, principal designers, principal contractors, contractors, and individuals to assess the information available in the compliance profile checker and make informed decisions about your on-site presence.

While we cannot enforce compliance with our codes of practice, it is essential for all members to actively commit to them to raise and maintain industry standards. This commitment is vital for driving culture change and working towards the gold standards outlined in the Hackitt Report. By adhering to these codes, members contribute to creating new behaviours and building a safer future within the construction and built environment sectors. This collective effort not only enhances individual reputations but also fosters trust among clients and colleagues, ensuring the highest levels of competency and ethical behaviour. By making this commitment, you become part of the solution rather than an ongoing problem, helping to shape a safer and more responsible industry.

No, we do not issue an SSSCP card. To avoid the potential for fraud, we have developed a complete digital platform for our membership. This approach not only enhances security but also reduces our environmental impact by eliminating the need for physical cards.

Additionally, using a digital passport simplifies the process for members. If you were to lose a physical card, obtaining a replacement could take time; however, your digital passport is always accessible, no matter where you are. This ensures you can conveniently manage your credentials at any time.
