TERMS of Service & Membership

SSS Competency Passport Membership Agreement
Effective April 2025 | Version 1.0
Issued by SSS Compliance Services Ltd (Company No. 15493208), trading as SSS Competency Passport (SSSCP)

This Membership Agreement sets out the terms and conditions for individuals and organisations using services provided by SSS Compliance Services Ltd, trading as SSS Competency Passport (SSSCP). By purchasing or using a membership, you agree to the following terms governing use of the SSSCP platform and services.

Definitions
SSSCP refers to SSS Compliance Services Ltd and its authorised representatives. An Individual is any person applying for or holding a personal SSSCP membership. A Company refers to any business applying for or managing memberships on behalf of employees or subcontractors. The Profile Checker is the public tool used to verify member competence summaries. SKEB stands for Skills, Knowledge, Experience and Behaviour, while the STARR method is a behavioural framework used in senior assessments. Platform refers to the digital tools and systems operated by SSSCP. Documents include CVs, qualifications, CPD, insurance records, and any uploaded evidence.

Membership Application and Renewal
All purchases and renewals must be completed through the official website, www.ssspassport.com. Membership begins once payment is successfully processed. Onboarding includes uploading required documentation and completing relevant assessments. Membership does not renew automatically. Renewal must be manually completed through the website. No bank or payment details are stored by SSSCP. Members may choose to pay in full or in instalments through our integrated Stripe payment system. The only exception is during specially discounted pilot schemes, where payment may be made directly to our banking account. Reminders will be sent 3 months, 2 months, and 1 month prior to the expiry date. If renewal is not completed, access to the SSSCP platform will be suspended until payment is received.

Ownership and Access
The SSSCP Membership belongs to the individual, even if purchased by an employer. If the individual leaves a company, they retain full ownership and access. Memberships cannot be reassigned or transferred between users.

Member Login and Password Security
Each member is issued a unique password as part of their onboarding process. This will be included in the onboarding email. Members may change their password at any time to maintain privacy and security. It is the responsibility of the member to keep their login credentials safe and confidential.

Data Privacy and Security
SSSCP is fully compliant with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. We do not collect, store, or share personal information such as addresses, dates of birth, or National Insurance numbers. However, members may choose to upload documents containing such details. These documents are stored securely and remain under the control of the member. Profile data, including all uploaded documents, is visible via the Passport when a profile check is performed. This can only be accessed using the member’s unique SSSCP Membership Number, which they may share directly or which may be made accessible within a company’s employee or contractor group. The information available through the Profile Checker is solely what the member has chosen to upload and share. SSSCP cannot be held responsible for any onward sharing of this information by others. We do not access member documentation unless specifically required for removal. To request removal of a document, members must submit an email request, and the content will be deleted within 5 working days.

Document Verification and Fraud Prevention
While members are solely responsible for the accuracy and legitimacy of uploaded documents, SSSCP offers tools to assist in verifying certain documentation. We cannot be held responsible for fraudulent documentation uploaded by users. However, we provide a facility for reporting suspected fraud. Any report of fraudulent activity will be investigated. Prior to uploading documents, members must sign a disclaimer acknowledging their understanding of what constitutes fraud, the consequences of submitting false information, and their accountability for any misuse.

Profile Checker
The Profile Checker displays a live, dynamic summary of verified competency and documentation uploaded by the member. It is not an employment tool and does not constitute an offer of employment or engagement. A profile check does not imply endorsement, approval, or suitability for any specific role. Individuals are responsible for keeping their information updated. Employers and verifiers perform Profile Checks and make judgements based on the documentation the member has uploaded. SSSCP cannot be held responsible if members fail to update their information. SSSCP does not make employment decisions — it simply provides the software that displays the information each member has chosen to upload to their passport.

Disclaimer of Reliance and User Responsibility
All information uploaded to the SSSCP platform is done so at the sole discretion of the individual member. SSSCP does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of any documentation provided and is not responsible for how that information is interpreted, relied upon, or used by third parties. Members and third-party users are solely responsible for conducting their own due diligence before making any employment, contractual, or compliance decisions.

No Warranty or Guarantee of Employment or Outcome
Use of the SSSCP platform does not constitute a guarantee of job placement, contract award, or any form of employment outcome. The SSSCP software exists solely to enable individuals to showcase their own information and documentation. It is not a recruitment tool, nor does it act in any HR, agent, or employment advisory capacity.

Third-Party Use and Member Accountability
Any information shared through the platform is made available only through the unique membership number voluntarily shared by the individual member. SSSCP cannot be held responsible for any onward distribution, use, or misuse of that number or associated information once disclosed by the member. All users are reminded that they must not rely solely on SSSCP data when making regulatory, financial, or hiring decisions.

Platform and Software Use
SSSCP is a Software as a Service (SaaS) platform. We provide digital tools for managing and demonstrating competency but do not employ, endorse, or certify individuals. All employment or contracting decisions remain the sole responsibility of the engaging organisation.

Service Availability Disclaimer
While we strive to ensure uninterrupted access to our platform, SSSCP cannot be held liable for outages or disruptions caused by internet service providers, server downtime, or technical issues beyond our control. In the event of such interruptions, services may be temporarily unavailable without notice.

Governing Law
This agreement and any disputes or claims arising out of or in connection with it shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any legal proceedings must be brought within the jurisdiction of the English courts.

Final Statement
SSSCP is committed to raising standards of competence, transparency, and accountability in the UK construction and built environment sectors. By using this service, you confirm your agreement with the terms of this Membership Agreement.
